The upper roll moves vertically while the two lower rolls move horizontally. A narrow lower-roll span improves thin-plate grip and reduces slipping, while a wider span supports higher bending force for thick plate rolling.

The variable geometry layout brings the forming point close to the clamping area, helping reduce straight ends during pre-bending on thick plates, shells, and vessel components.

By changing the lower-roll distance, W11S can handle different plate thicknesses more flexibly than fixed-geometry three-roll machines, making it suitable for shops with mixed heavy fabrication work.
